A blog about the increasing use of free and open source software in mobile devices, horror movies, technology, design, Japanese stuff, and whatever else happens to catch my interest.
I wanted to say thanks for digging up Times v. Sullivan and providing the case law behind the position I'd staked out with Mr-or-Ms "Liable and Defamation", that was a terrific comment.
I'm a few miles North of SCRUZ, and work over in Sunnyvale (in theory, anyway; in practice, I tend to work from home as much as possible), so once you get yourself settled in, I'd be very happy to get together. Refreshing beverages are on me.
(I'd write directly, but your profile's locked; my email is lefty@shugendo.org)
I don't keep my contact details particularly secret: keep your friends close and your enemies closer, that sort of thing...
(Not that I consider any of the Nameless Horde as "enemies", they'd need a few more neurons to qualify... They might feel differently about me, but happily I'm possessed with an unreasonably high sense of self-esteem, so I don't care...)
I'm David Schlesinger (aka "Lefty"), an active and vocal member of the burgeoning mobile open source community.
I'm currently chair of the LiMo Foundation's Open Source Committee, and have previously been a member of the their Architecture Council (2006-2008), and Architectural Steering Committee (2008-2010), as well as a member of the GNOME Foundation Advisory Board (2004-2010). I'm also a founding board member of the Open Media Now! Foundation. I've presented, on various occasions, at FOSTEL, GUADEC, Open Source in Mobile, and the Linux Symposium, among a variety of other venues.
Nothwithstanding any of that, this blog represents my own opinions, not those of my employer, our customers, or anyone else. As if you couldn't tell.

Apropos of nothing.
I liked your post on RMS. I'm moving to Aptos in the next couple of weeks, and will be knocking about MV/Palo Alto.
If you ever want to grab a cup of coffee, or a drink, drop me a line.
Hey, that'd be great!

If you want to pull the e-mail I've used it already. I didn't see one, so I used this to say hello.
That sort of post... almost a trademark. You ought to see me on torture.
Thanks, got the email.
